Sealants - Primers
Product Description
Bostik Primer N40 is a clear, non-staining solvent-based primer/cleaner for promoting the adhesion of Polyurethane &
Acrylic sealants and waterproof membrane systems to nonporous substrates such as hard plastics & most metals. The substrate must be free of ponded water; grease build up or oil film, prior to the application of N40 primer. |
Bostik N 49 is clear in appearance & formulated for use on porous substrates such as concrete & masonry, particularly with water immersed applications using Bostik low modulus polyurethane. Apply with a soft brush and allow to dry for 15 minutes. Sealant must be applied within 4 hours or re-priming is required. Pretest is recommended on natural stones as staining may occur.

Sika® Cleaner-205 is an alcoholic solution containing a bond activating substance for cleaning and activating bond faces prior to bonding and sealing with Sikaflex® products. Sika® Cleaner-205 is manufactured in accordance with the ISO 9001/14001 quality assurance system and with the responsible care program.
Uses: Sika® Cleaner-205 is used to clean and activate the following nonporous substrates: metals, plastics, glazed ceramics, painted surfaces. This product is suitable for experienced users only. Test with actual substrates and conditions have to be performed to ensure adhesion and material compatibility. |
Sika® Primer-209N is a black pigmented liquid of low viscosity which dries by reaction with atmospheric moisture. It is used to prime painted surfaces and plastic substrates prior to bonding with Sika-flex® products. Sika® Primer-209N is manufactured in accordance with the ISO 9001/14001 quality assurance system and the responsible care program.
Uses: Sika® Primer-209N is suitable for application to the following substrates:
- Alkyds/melamine - Baked enamels - Powder coatings
- Polycarbonate - ABS, etc. Because paints and plastics vary so much in their chemical composition, preliminary trials are necessary. Always seek the manufacturer’s advice before using the primer on plastics that are prone to stress cracking, such as acrylics, polycarbonates or ABS. This product is suitable for experienced professional users only. Test with actual substrates and conditions have to be performed to ensure adhesion and material compatibility. |
Sika® Primer-215 is a transparent, pale yellow liquid of low viscosity that dries by reaction with atmospheric moisture. It is used to prime various plastics, timber and other porous materials prior to bonding with Sikaflex® products. Sika® Primer-215 is manufactured in accordance with the ISO 9001/14001 quality assurance system and responsible care programme.
Uses: Sika® Primer-215 is suitable for application to the following substrates: plastics such as GRP, epoxy resins, PVC, ABS and timber. Because plastics vary so much in their chemical composition, preliminary trials are necessary. This product must not be used on plastics that are prone to stress cracking, such as acrylics or polycarbonates. This product is suitable for experienced professional users only. Test with actual substrates and conditions have to be performed to ensure adhesion and material compatibility. |
Sika Primer No. 3 is a one part, transparent, solvent based, reactive epoxy resin compound which can be applied to slightly damp or dry, porous, absorbent materials & metals.
|
Sika Primer 1 is a single component primer for dry concrete surfaces. Apply Sika Primer 1 in a thin coat to the prepared surface by brush. Allow the primer to dry for at least one hour but not longer than 5 hours before placing the sealant. If ventilation is poor eg. joints are narrow - wait 2 hours before applying sealant.
